Althea (Mungovan) Colaianni, 82, of Marlborough, died peacefully in her home after an illness on Friday, December 19, 2025.

She was the daughter of the late John and Althea (King) Mungovan and wife of Buck Colaianni.

Althea graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University in 1968.  She devoted her life to helping others by working as a registered nurse for over 30 years. She had an amazing ability to connect with people and made sure they felt heard and cared for.

Althea’s other devotion was to her family.  She was happily married for 53 years.  She was a loving mother and Nana and cherished every moment she spent with her family, most especially her granddaughters. 

Beside her husband, Althea is survived by her daughter Amy MacDonald and her husband Doug of Concord, NH, her granddaughters, Grace and Avery, and her sister, Jane McDonald and her husband Kevin of Marlborough.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect Street, Marlborough, MA 01752. A private burial will be held at a later date.
