Ann “Nancy” Leary, age 91 passed away on November 9th, 2024.
She graduated from Boston State Teachers College and taught both elementary school and art for many years. Nancy was a tireless volunteer, serving as a Board member for numerous organizations including the Marlborough Hospital Auxiliary, Stow Garden Club, Colonial Garden Club and Marlborough League of Women Voters. She generously shared her considerable artistic talents, adding whimsy or elegance to support her volunteerism, friends, and family. An adventurous cook, she was known, along with her husband, for hosting elaborate luncheons and holiday feasts. Nancy enjoyed traveling, and was thrilled to have had the opportunity to stand in front of her favorite paintings.
She is survived by her daughter Deirdre and granddaughter Gabriela, son Jonathan and daughter-in-law Katherine. She is also survived by her brother Gerald Barry and nieces and nephews. Nancy was predeceased by her husband of sixty-four years, Edward Leary and son-in-law, David Godin. She will be greatly missed.
A funeral Mass for Ann will be celebrated Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 10:00am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 9 Prospect Street, Marlborough, MA 01752. Burial will follow at Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation would be appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
