Bernard J. Sinacole Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bernard (Ben) J. Sinacole, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, at the age of 92.
Born in Marlborough in 1933, Ben served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His strength, discipline, and unwavering sense of duty were qualities he carried with him throughout his life.
After returning home, Ben, with his wife, Shirley, ran the Edinboro Flower Shop with integrity and passion for over 30 years. A natural entrepreneur and hard worker, he took pride in every aspect of his work, earning the respect of clients, colleagues, and the community.
But Ben was so much more than his accomplishments. He was a man who found joy in the simple things. He never missed his Saturday night cribbage games with friends—where laughter and good-natured competition were always guaranteed. He was often heard whistling cheerful tunes around the house, the sounds filling the room with both nostalgia and joy, a treasured reminder of his warm heart. He could be found most mornings walking hand-in-hand with his beloved wife, Shirley, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage. Together, they built a family rooted in love, laughter, and tradition.
Ben began each day by making toast for his beloved wife, a simple act of devotion that spoke volumes. Without fail, he sent her a heartfelt card and flowers for every holiday, cherishing every chance to show his love. One of his favorite ways to spend time was sitting in his recliner doing crossword puzzles with Shirley, the two of them sharing coffee, quiet conversation, and clues. Word games were a constant source of fun and connection throughout their life together.
A dedicated father and a proud grandfather, Ben never missed a family celebration, from birthday parties to graduations. His presence was a constant source of warmth and support.
Ben leaves behind his loving wife Shirley; his children, Bernie Sinacole Jr. and his wife Robin of Marlborough, Beth Halaby and her husband Jamil of Methuen, Charles Sinacole and his wife Sabrina of Marlborough, and Jay Sinacole and his wife Patricia of Hopkinton. Ben is also survived by his grandchildren, Anthony, Vanessa, Andre, Jamil III, Alexandra, Julianna, Haley and Daniel, his great-grandchildren, Vienna, Hadley, and Mia, his sister Patricia Vanbuskirk and her husband Joseph, as well as many nieces and nephews, and a large extended family who will forever cherish his memory, guidance, and love.
His legacy is one of strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved most.
