Bonnie Ellen (Crowley) Johnston, 76, of Acton, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024, at her home. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Muriel (Peterson) Crowley. Bonnie was predeceased by her brother, Robert Crowley.
Bonnie moved from Maynard to Acton in 1956 and was a graduate of Acton Boxborough, class of 1965. After graduation she worked as a travel agent for many years in Concord, a career she absolutely loved and offered her the opportunity to travel all over the world. Bonnie grew up in a close family and cherished spending holidays with them, often telling stories of Christmases past and family gatherings that she cherished as a child. She loved Cape Cod, the beach, and feeding the wild birds in the backyard.
Working at Danny’s Place in Acton meant so much to Bonnie and it held a special place in her heart. She treated the kids as her own, helping so many of them through their emotional steps and growth as teens. She was a great sounding board for them and didn’t sugarcoat her responses. Her brownies are infamously remembered, made with love... and some mix from Costco.
The greatest joy in her life, along with her daughter Meghan, was her grandson Michael Wise, who she loved with all her heart. Her happiest moments were spent with them and sharing in their adventures. She leaves many cousins and close friends who she loved dearly.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Meghan Wise and grandson Michael Wise. A burial will be held on June 29th at 11 am at Glenwood Cemetery, 252 Great Road, Maynard, MA 01754.
