Charles H. Elser,71, a lifelong resident of Wellesley, MA, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Kenneth H. and Carol (McCarthy) Elser.
Charlie was educated at the Riverview School in Sandwich, MA, through his high school years. He had been employed for over 40 years at Care One Nursing Facility in Newton.
Charlie had a very busy social life. He not only enjoyed all New England's sport teams but had season tickets to Boston College football, Red Sox, Celtics and the Bruins. He seldom missed any of the games. He also knew the players, dates and great moments of all the teams throughout their history. He was a movie buff, especially westerns and the films of John Wayne. He also traveled throughout the country with several close friends.
He is survived by his sister and her husband, Jane and Ed Headberg of Shrewsbury, who wish to thank all of the staff in the oncology department at Mass General Hospital for the expert care and great kindness shown to Charlie during his 2 ½ years of treatment.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
