Constance M. (Black) Pettijohn, 71, of Marlborough, died Thursday, December 19, 2024. Born on November 8, 1953, she was the daughter of Clementine M. (Haynes) Black of Marlborough and the late James K. Black.

Constance met her husband, Kevin, on May 29, 1999. The couple were married on August 11, 2001 and although they had no children together, they formed a blended family.

She graduated from Marlborough High School Class of 1972. After returning school she earned a certificate from Blaine School of Cosmetology in 1982 and opened her first salon, Rashon’s Hairtronics, in 1984. She was employed as a hairdresser for the next 40 years. Constance was a member of the Caribbean Social Club in Worcester, MA. She received the Southern Middlesex Men’s Club Community Service Award for Entrepreneurship in December 2001.

Constance was an active member of the Greater Framingham Community Church where she was married, from 2000-2010. In 2010 she joined the Myrtle Baptist Church in West Newton where she was Baptized in 2016. She was a member of the Elders of Color and the Daughters of Myrtle. 

She leaves to mourn her husband, Kevin M. Pettijohn, her mother, Clementine M. (Haynes) Black, her son, Rashon J. Black of Marlborough, her grandchildren, Ayereanna, Tahnyia, Nyasia, Kyré and Ava, her brother Karl B. Black of Maryland and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted friendsand church family.

Constance was predeceased by her brother, Tyrone Black in 2015.

A Memorial Service for Constance will be held Saturday, January 18, 2024, at Myrtle Baptist Church, 21 Curve Street, West Newton, MA 02465.  10:30AM Family Hour. Service 11am Repast at the Church. A Private Burial will be announced in the spring.
