David A. Peterson

David A. Peterson ,71, died of natural causes in Marlborough, Ma. November 9th after prolonged declining health. Marlborough was the town he called home for nearly 50 years.  He was born in Schenectady, N.Y. and raised in Terrace Park, Ohio, he was the son of the late Howard B. Peterson, Jr. and Arline (Adams) Peterson. David was a graduate of Miami University of Ohio and began his career with General Electric in Cincinnati. 

David was recently predeceased by his brother, Howard B. Peterson, III.  He is survived by his two devoted first cousins Peri Peterson Wentworth of Cape Cod and Punkie Peterson Feil of Charlottesville, Virginia.  David leaves many cousins and friends but especially his dearest companion, Cheryl Spinney of Marlborough, Ma., long-time friend and mentor Liz Gulachenski of Southborough, Ma. and his close support group from Employment Options, Marlborough.   David was a talented musician and had a beautiful singing voice.  He was a superb tenor with the Northboro Community Chorus for many years and performed with numerous musical groups.  David lit up the room with his smile and had an exceptional gift of gab, always remembering those little details of your life that makes you feel so special. 

David’s family would like to thank the caregivers of Beaumont Nursing Home, especially nurse extraordinaire Paula Flannagan, Kaley Bigelow and Ashlye Warner.  Thanks also to Mary Murphy of Christopher Heights Assisted Living and to true angel of Aging Space, care giver, Sarah Bourque.  A special thanks to the Marlborough Hospital doctors and staff, especially Dr. Brigham.

A visitation will be held at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, Ma. on Monday, Nov. 22 from 10:30 - 11:30AM.  Burial will be private.   In lieu of flowers, please remember David with a donation to Employment Options, a nonprofit organization that empowers individuals and families in mental health recovery to thrive in their communities: Employment Options, 82 Brigham St., Marlborough, Ma. 01752.
