Denise C. Blair, 71, of Marlborough passed away peacefully Sunday, June 1, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was the daughter of the late Armand and Rose Marie (Lapierre) Berard and wife of Richard Blair to whom she would have been married for 49 years this coming October. She was predeceased by her sister, Leslie Berard.
Besides her husband, Denise is survived by her daughter, Amanda Julian and her husband Peter of Marlborough, her sons, Michael Blair and his wife Jennifer of Marlborough and Stephen Blair and his wife Ashley of Northborough, her grandchildren, Sophia, Luke, Owen, Henry, Chase and Brooke. She is also survived by her siblings, Renay Blair and her husband Jimmy, Karen Stead and her husband Scott and Wayne Berard and his wife Debbie as well as many nieces and nephews.
Many may have known Denise as a hairdresser, but she was much more than that - she was a confidante and cherished friend, forming deep bonds with customers she considered family. A devoted grandmother, she cheered loudly at her grandchildren’s games and treasured family traditions—ski trips, Atlantic City getaways, and extended family vacations. She was always known for her popcorn, iced tea and delicious baked goods, shared generously with those around her. With a remarkable ability to light up any room, her distinctive laughter and playful humor brightened everyone’s day, embodying her cherished roles as a wife, mother, mémère, sister and friend. Her brisk walks with her sister through Marlborough’s streets were often a familiar sight. A true giver, Denise loved fiercely and selflessly. To know her was to love her—she was a gift of love to all.
A funeral Mass for Denise will be celebrated Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway Street, Marlborough, MA 01752. A celebration of life will follow at the Wedgewood Pines Country Club, 215 Harvard Road, Stow, MA 01775. Guests are requested to dress in country club casual attire. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Denise Blair to support cancer research and patient care at:
