Elisabeth N. Berndt Obituary

Elisabeth (Betsy) Berndt, 81, died August 29th at her home in Southborough, MA after a battle with lymphoma. Betsy was born on May 22,1938 to Nelson and Kathleen Stevens; she was one of nine children.
She attended Beth Israel Deaconess School of Nursing where she earned an R.N. She later married her soulmate, Richard (Dick) Berndt, with whom she raised three surviving children, Richard, Aaron, and Kimberley. Dick and Betsy owned and operated Achinbac Farm in Freetown, MA until they retired.
Betsy spent her retirement caring for Dick until his passing and was actively involved in the life of her grandchildren. Betsy always put others first and was the type of person everyone wanted to confide in. She created safe spaces for family and friends by just being "Betsy". She will be immensely missed by her family and those who came to consider her as "grandma".
A small family memorial service will be held later in the fall.
