Fred (Richard) Wyman, 88, of Marlborough, MA departed this worldly realm on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center (University Campus) in Worcester, surrounded by his loving family.

Born May 26, 1937, he was the first son born to his parents, the late Walter E. and Blanche (Bragdon) Wyman.

Fred was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Patricia (Hood) Wyman, his siblings: Carol Wyman, John (Jack)Wyman, James (Jim) Wyman, Alice (Gay) Rodenhiser and her husband Charles.  Also predeceasing him were his beloved nephews, Jeffrey Wyman, Robert (Bob) Rodenhiser, and his niece Patricia (Patty) Rodenhiser-Hunter. 

Fred is survived by his daughter, Korey-Ann Wyman of Millbury, MA, his grandchildren, Kay Stevens of Chicago, IL and Jake Stevens of Auburn, MA.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law Susan Wyman of Summerville, GA, and manynieces, nephews and his “honorary” grandchildren.

Forever a selfless man, Fred had an enormous love for life!  Always social, he was frequently seen working on puzzles, shooting a round of pool, helping with Bingo games and attending weekly coffee hour.  The holidays were a special time for him as he would help decorate the entire building along with the decorating committee.  His favorite annual activity was sitting outside for the annual Horribles Parade, and Trick or Trick on Main Street.  

He loved to sit with “the gang” and reminisce about the old times growing up in the Hudson/Marlborough area, especially Lake Boon.  He was especially fond of his Tuesday night cribbage games & dinners with his daughter at Pub 99 in Marlborough.

Fred had profound respect for our military and 1st responders.  At the annual Labor Day Parade, he always stood respectfully for the flag, and for every unit it passed by in. 

Simple things meant the most to him.  A smile & conversation, a simple meal, a kind word, anything sweet.  

Fred will be profoundly missed by his family, friends and caretakers.  The family will also be forever thankful for his home aid, Camry Etre, for her overwhelming love of her work and her compassion during her time with Fred through his last days.

Visitation and services are scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Slattery Funeral Home. Inc, 40 Pleasant Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.  Visiting hours will be held beginning at 9am with funeral services beginning at 11am.
