HOWARD J. (Howie) FETTIG, a resident of Framingham for over 60 years, and most recently of Grafton, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 28,2026. He was the beloved husband of the late Estella C. Fettig. He is survived by sons H. Mark Fettig and his wife Alexis of Grafton, and Willam J. Fettig and his wife Rita of Marlborough; five grandchildren, Nicholas and his wife Kacy of Weymouth, Matthew, Emma, Ryan and Wilson, and great-grandson Julian.Howie was born and raised in Scituate, the son of the late Howard I. Fettig and the late Anne (Nancy) Fettig. He was the brother of Marianne Vaudreuil and her husband Ronald of East Sandwich, James F. Fettig of Cotuit, and the late Richard J.Fettig of Scituate. He also leaves many dear nieces and nephews.
Howie was a graduate of Scituate High School, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Upon discharge he graduated from Wentworth Institute and Northeastern University. Howie had been employed for many years at Sperry Rand Research Center in Sudbury, Univac Corporation in Eagan, MN, and Raytheon Company, Special Devices, in Northborough. Howie had been active for many years in the Framingham Little League and the Boy Scouts of America as a troop leader.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 31 from 5-7pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St, Marlborough, MA 01752. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 1 at 11am at St.Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St, Marlborough, MA. Burial will take place at a later date.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Autumn Hospice, and the Oddfellows Home of Worcester for their kind, compassionate care.
