Kathleen A. (Proulx) Vicaire, 83, of Hudson, died Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at UMass Memorial Health – Marlborough Hospital.
Kathleen was born January 23, 1938, in Fall River, MA. She was the daughter of the late Henry Raymond and Ida (Walton) Proulx and the wife of the late John Vicaire.
The simplest pleasures in life brought immense joy to Kathy. She loved to sew, knit, and crochet beautiful gifts for her family and friends. Over the years, she acquired an extensive doll collection that she loved to display in her home.
Kathy was a loyal member of AA and recently celebrated 59 years of sobriety. The number of people that were blessed by her genuine comfort and support was countless. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met.
Kathy is survived by her children, Cheryl Ann Roberts of Swansea, MA, Patricia and her husband Paul Friot of Bradenton, FL; Jacqueline and her husband Thomas Cashin of Charlemont, MA, Joseph Vicaire and his husband, Alexander Spix of Cologne, Germany, John and his wife Michelle Vicaire of Wilbraham, MA, Rita and her husband Hans Luedemann of Bolton, MA, William and his wife Kathleen Vicaire of Port St. Lucie, FL and Vernon and his wife Donna Metallic of Listuguj, Quebec, Canada. She was grandmother to Jessica, James and Thomas Cashin, Aaron Vicaire, David and Gillian Dalconzo, John, Bradley and Leon Vicaire and great-grandmother to Damian Szybillo-Vicaire. She also leaves her loving sister, Janice Proulx-Stafford of Marlboro, MA and brother, Rene Proulx of Colorado along with several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Jack Walton, sister Evelyn Proulx and brother-in-law, Roland Stafford.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021, from 5:00 – 7:00PM at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA 01752. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Forestvale Cemetery, Broad St., Hudson, MA 01749.
Donations may be made in Kathy’s name to the Salvation Army, the Massachusetts Audubon Society or the MSPCA.
