Lars E. Lundgren

Lars E. Lundgren, 90, of Hudson, died Saturday May 9, 2026, at home with his daughters by his side.

Born in Sweden on July 4, 1935, he was the son of the late Inga Lundgren and husband of the late Muriel (Elder) Lundgren, to whom he was married 54 years until her death in 2012. Lars was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who truly lived life to the fullest.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially motorcycle adventures with his friends, and had a deep appreciation for classic cars. Lars also had a passion for trains, which he shared with his grandson. A devoted history enthusiast and avid reader, he passed his love of history on to his grandchildren.

A dedicated provider, Lars worked many jobs over the years to support his family so they could spend summers camping in Patuckaway. He later began his career at Bell Atlantic as a lineman, staying with the company through its many transitions before retiring as lineman for Verizon, a position he loved and took great pride in.

Lars is survived by his children, Robin Temple of Marlborough, Julie Lazaros and her husband Gary of Hudson, and Karl Lundgren of Clinton, his daughter-in-law Michelle Lundgren, and his grandchildren, Daniel and Jake Temple, Joseph, Christopher and Kailee Lazaros, Melissa O’Donnell, Patrick Bruen and Alicia Lundgren, and his great-granddaughters, Maddie and Jovie O’Donnell and Aria Blaikie as well as his best friends, John Bruen and Sue Rabaut. Lars was predeceased by his son-in-law Clayton Temple, lll.

A burial will be held Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 11:00 am, at Forestvale Cemetery, 170 Broad St, Hudson, MA 01749. A celebration of life will be held July 4th, Lars’ favorite holiday and birthday!

Donations in Lars’ memory may be made to Boys Town, an organization he supported for many years, as Lars himself grew up in an orphanage until the age of 17, when he came to the United States.
