Linda Marie Bombard, 67, of Marlborough, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
Born in Hudson, Massachusetts, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Lincoln and Alice (Rollins) Bombard of Marlboro. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence brought comfort, humor, and love to those around her.
Linda is survived by her loving son, Nicholas Rano and his wife Shannon Rano of Millbury. She was a proud and loving grandmother to her grandson, Phoenix Rano, and her granddaughter, Alexis Rano who both brought her immense joy. Linda cherished her time spent with her family above all else. She also leaves behind her brothers, Albert, Wilfred, and Charles, along with her nieces Danielle, Rachell, and Beckie, who will forever remember her.
Linda was predeceased by her beloved daughter Melissa Jean Rano, who passed away in 1992, as well as her former husband Gene Salvatore Rano of Marlboro whom she shared 20+ years of marriage.
Linda graduated in June of 1977 from Assabet Valley Regional Vocational High School with a Certificate of Proficiency in Homemaking and Child Care, an early reflection of the care and compassion she would show throughout her life.
Linda dedicated more than ten years working for Bruel & Kjaer Instruments and later devoted decades of service working for the state, supporting individuals with disabilities. She also worked as a bus monitor, a role she truly loved, where she formed connections and brought kindness to those she encountered each day.
Linda had a unique spirit. She found pleasures in life’s more simple things like being at the beach or being pool side. She had a forever love for horses and had a huge fondness for Betty Boop, clowns, and Scooby-doo which always showed some of her more playful side! She carried that warmth and lightheartedness into her relationships making those around her feel loved and at ease.
Those who knew Linda will remember her as a woman whom could sit and listen for hours. She loved deeply and gave freely. Her absence will forever leave a space that cannot be filled, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
“Like the song she loved, life brings change like a landslide but the love she gave will remain forever.”
Services will be held at a later date and time.
