Obituary
Luis A. Sales, 85, of Marlborough, MA, died February 12, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham.
He was the son of the late Serafin Sales and Niria Teresa (Aguerre) Sales and the husband of Diana (Lecuna) Sales, to whom he was married for 58 years. Luis was predeceased by his daughter Audrey (Sales) Ward.
Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Luis moved to Boston in 1965 where he lived for over 50 years, working until retirement as a public-school teacher. Luis was an avid vegetable gardener and enthusiastic griller, who loved having full day cookouts where he meticulously tended a fire and took great pride in feeding his family. He will be remembered as a passionate sports fan who enjoyed watching soccer, and who was always eager to watch and discuss his Boston teams – especially the Celtics.
Besides his wife, Luis is survived by his son Clifford Sales and his wife Judy Sales, his daughter Jessica (Sales) Cohen and her husband Sol Cohen, and his son-in-law, Kevin Ward. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Ashley (Ward) Hogan, Ryan Ward, Gabriel Ward, Trevor Ward, Isabella Cohen, Marcel Cohen, Nicholas Sales, and Alex Day.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023, from 1:00-3:00PM at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.
