Lydia (Brazeau) Whitcomb, 101, of Marlborough, died Wednesday, July 15, 2025, at The Reservoir Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Marlborough. 

She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lura (Daniels) Brazeau and wife of the late Walter Whitcomb and Francis J. Thomas. She was predeceased by her son, Francis J. Thomas Jr. 

Lydia worked for many years at Mars Department Store in Hudson until she retired. She stayed busy with her volunteer work with many organizations including Gold Star Wives, DAV Auxiliary, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Low Vision Group, Marlborough Senior Center and St. Mathias Church. 

Lydia is survived by 4 grandchildren; Deborah Irvine and her husband Jeep; Mary Edwards and her husband Jonathan of Marlborough,  Dean Thomas and his wife Jennifer of Townsend and Skip Thomas and his wife Cathy of Tallahassee, Florida, 9 great grandchildren; Eric Thomas, Amanda Michaud, Brittany Schuppel, Caitlyn Edwards, Maryssa Martin, Kayla Martin, David Edwards, Samantha Thomas and Madison Thomas and 5 great-great grandchildren; Aubree, Haylee, Justina, Ezequiel, and Ismael.  

Visitation for Lydia will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 1:00-3:00PM at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA 01752. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 10:00AM at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beach St., Marlborough, MA.
