Mary (Conti) Byra

Mary (Conti) Byra, 101, of Marlborough, died Monday, August 1, 2022, at her home following a short illness. Born in Framingham she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Candida (Dallamora) Conti and the wife of Joseph M. Byra of Marlborough, to whom she was married for the past 77 years.

Mary was an Office Clerk for the Raytheon Corp., of Wayland, MA for 15 years. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.

Mary loved traveling the world with her husband and enjoyed her many trips with her nieces. She was an avid reader and one of her secrets to longevity was her love of exercising despite her age.

Besides her loving husband, Mary is survived by her daughter-in-Law Ilona Byra of Hudson, her grandchildren Nicholas Byra and Samantha Longval, her brother’s Laurence “Larry” and his wife Bucky Conti, and Fred and his wife Lee Conti, both of Framingham, MA. and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Joseph A. Byra who died in 2012, and the sister of the late John, Joseph and Eugene Conti, Rita Harrison, and Louise Goguen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant Street, Marlborough, MA. Visiting hours will be from 10:00 -11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough, MA. 01752.
