Mary (Taylor) Jacques Obituary

Mary (Taylor) Jacques passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2022  at UMass Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family after several months of illness. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Harold, Sr. and Rita (Rousseau) Taylor.

Mary will be lovingly missed by her family including her daughter Tara Nevins and her husband Keith Nevins, her grandchildren Lynn Holly, John Nelson, Nicholas Nevins, and Savannah Nevins all of whom were the light of her life. She also leaves her many adoring nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Mary was the rock of our family. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, she was an impeccable hostess welcoming all into her home with an abundance of delicious food and drink. She was known as the life of the party, considered the “fun” aunt by all her nieces and nephews. She loved her family very much and was an amazing caretaker to all the family that passed before her. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her so much. We take solace in knowing she can now continue to be the life of the party with all of those in heaven that have been waiting for her.

Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Albert Jacques her devoted son Mathew Holly, and beloved brother and sister Harold Taylor and Penny McCaffrey.  As well as numerous other family members and amazing friends.

Even though her last months were stricken with illness she lived life to the fullest. She spent her early career in banking followed by many years in restaurant management. Mary loved to travel, especially cruising. One of her favorite places were the beaches of Cape Cod, where she would celebrate many summers. Mary was an avid reader and card player. She enjoyed playing all types of games with family and friends, especially cards with her dear friend Pam. She loved her pets throughout the years particularly her cat Sheba who will dearly miss her.
