Mary Narice Obituary

Mary M. (DeCisero) Narice, 80, of Southborough, died Monday, April 3, 2023, surrounded by her family, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Flannagan) DeCisero and the wife of the late Richard Narice. She was predeceased by her brother, Philip DeCisero and her niece, Karen DeCisero.

Mary was born and proudly raised in Clinton, MA. She was always quick to share a fond memory about growing up there. After graduating from Clinton High, Mary went on to work as a Surgical Technician at Clinton hospital.

She married her beloved husband, Richard (Dick), in 1974 and shortly thereafter they moved to their home in Southborough. It was at this time she took on her most challenging role of mom to her young family. She was selfless and ALWAYS put the needs of her family ahead of hers and showed her family unconditional love and support. She instilled in her children the importance of family, love and forgiveness. She built a welcoming and loving home that will continue to endure.

She was a woman of unwavering faith in God. She did not just talk about of her faith, she lived it. She looked forward to daily mass with her friends at St. Matthews and then meeting for coffee with the “church ladies”.  Father Flynn and the entire St. Matthews community meant the world to her.

Mary enjoyed working on jig saw puzzles in her porch, reading the latest tabloid magazines, and watching Hallmark Christmas movies. She was fortunate to travel with her family to Ireland, Italy and Disney in past years, but it was visits to York Maine that she truly cherished. She loved gathering with her family and friends in Maine to share a meal, laughs and stories. The dinner table will not be the same without her apple pies and blueberry buckles.

Her grandchildren were the sun in her sky, and her big blue eyes would always light up when they were near. They never heard the word “no” from her.  She loved to read to them, watch cartoons and make them popcorn. Despite the protests of her own children, Mary ensured her “little ones” had plenty of candy and were spoiled on holidays and birthdays.

Of all the things that Mary loved, it was the time she spent with all the people in her life that meant the most. Please know, she cared about you and prayed for you and wanted nothing more, but to be there for you when you needed it.

Mary’s family would like to sincerely thank her doctor, David Young and the doctors, nurses and staff of the Cardiac I.C.U at Beth Israel for there tireless and compassionate care.

She is survived by her son, Rich Narice and his wife Gina of Southborough, her daughter, Kara Narice and her husband Robert Maguire Jr. of Hopedale and her sister-in-law, Pam DeCisero of Sterling. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Gianna Mary Narice, Devin Maguire, Rylan Maguire and Ethan Maguire and her niece and nephew, Michael Decisero and Jillean Price.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 9:30 – 11:00AM at St. Matthew Church, 26 Highland Street, Southborough, MA 01772. A funeral Mass will be held in the church at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Southborough Rural Cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road, Southborough, MA.
