Maureen Tremarche-Butler Obituary

Maureen Rose Tremarche-Butler, 71, of Marlborough passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester surrounded by her family.

She was the daughter of the late Antonio and Roberta (Wall) Tremarche and wife of Robert Butler of Marlborough for forty-three years.

Maureen was a bright and caring woman who graduated from Rosary Academy in Watertown and then attended Salem State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1971 majoring in math.  She worked for a short time as a teacher and in the insurance industry until her skills in finance led her to a career in financial management which satisfied both her love of working with people and utilizing her excellent math skills.  She continued her career for 26 years providing each client an exceptional, personalized experience, assisting each with what they needed for their estate, financial planning and taxes blending that with her genuine care.  She missed working with the clients and especially her dear friends Nancy Leonard and Susan Vallerand.

Maureen had many interests including cooking, and gardening with her husband.  She combined those two interests to bake and create delicious jams and jellies that family and friends looked forward to receiving in beautiful baskets during holidays.  She was an avid reader and had an amazing knowledge of trivia.  She loved camping and traveling around New England to special places that supported her love of animals. Mo (as friends and family called her) had a loving heart and a kind soul for everyone furry or not!

She and Bob lived in Marlborough with their “kids”, their precious kitties.  Ameera, Rocky and George will all miss Maureen as they romp through the house.  She had many other kids through the years who all gave her special memories of their unique playfulness and cuddly affection.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her brothers and sisters, Anthony F. Tremarche of Sudbury, Mary K. Tremarche of Waltham, Gerard E. Tremarche and his wife Sandra of Watertown, Robert C. Tremarche and his wife Jean of Worcester, Anita C. Tremarche and her husband Alan Strong of Manchester, Conn., Timothy J. Tremarche and his wife Christine of Plymouth, Andrew P. Tremarche and his wife Kristin of Framingham and the late Amalie Tremarche.

She loved all her nieces and nephews:   Michael Tremarche, Christine R. Tremarche (deceased), Meghan Lap and her husband Coen, Adam Tremarche, Thomas Tremarche, Emily Tremarche, Connor Tremarche, Abigail Bourdon and her husband Noah, Katherine Tremarche, Andrew Tremarche, Evan Tremarche, Shelby Lynn Strong, and Hunter Strong.

As a survivor of breast cancer, donations can be made in Maureen’s memory to support a cure for breast cancer.  Donations can also be made to MetroWest Humane Society at 30 Pond Street, Ashland, MA to support her love of animals and to make sure they find forever homes with families.
