Nancy (French) Faucher Obituary

We have lost a bright light in our world. Nancy Faucher passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, in the company of her family. She was a mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend, and now she joins her beloved husband, David, on the other shore, where she is also reunited with her parents, Gordo and Lillian French and several friends and family who have already made that journey before her. That would be a joyous reunion to see.

Nancy leaves behind a large and loving family who will miss her dearly: her sons Patrick (Amanda), David (Cassie), Kyle (Tracy), and Joshua (Jonda); her grandchildren Bright, Sunny, Atticus, Zach, Connor, Josh, Leah and Jake as well as her siblings Larry, Janet, Perry, and Lee-Ann, with whom she shared a lifetime of stories and laughter.

Born in Massena, New York, Nancy was the eldest child of Gordo and Lillian. She attended Catholic schools in her youth, where she was known as a model student—with a mischievous streak. One memorable instance: locking her teacher out of the classroom when he was late, having grown tired of her fellow students being locked out for the same offense!

In her late teens, Nancy met the love of her life, David Faucher, and together they built a fun filled life over more than 45 years of marriage. David and Nancy led a rich life in Massena, surrounded by family and very close friends with whom they went on many fun adventures across the North Country. They also raised four boys while running multiple businesses, including Verville’s Flowers and the famous Tony’s Pizzeria. The flower shop became a town favorite, known for giving away flowers on birthdays, donating poinsettias to the church, and turning Mother’s Day into a full-bloom event. Their home was always a hub of joy and laughter —filled with family dinners, parties, games, music, and Nancy’s famous “I’ve got an idea!” activities, which often led to spontaneous parades, boat races, or themed parties—usually with funny hats and sunglasses involved.

After David’s passing in 2012, Nancy moved to Hopkinton, Massachusetts, where she was embraced by both family and community. She joined The Treblemakers, a local singing group that brought her great joy and close friendships. Her days were filled with music, book clubs (with plenty of snacks and wine), lunches with her dear friends and holiday celebrations and dinners at Patrick & Amanda’s house where family would gather. She would often sit on their “Dock”, enjoying the gardens or sitting in front of the fire with a glass of wine, Houdini the rabbit under her feet, laughing and sharing stories with family.

Nancy’s spark, warmth, and generosity touched everyone she met. She had a story and a smile for every occasion, and her ability to bring joy and laughter into a room was unmatched.

Our grief is deep, but so is our gratitude for having had her in our lives. Nancy was a true spark of life, and her spirit will continue to shine in all who loved her.
