She is survived by her younger brother William Schewe of Wilmington, NC and predeceased by her older brother Michael Schewe, and younger sister Kathrine (Schewe) Beasley.
Patricia was a loving Nana to her six grandchildren, Michael Naze and his wife Kathleen of Woburn, Jennifer Santos and her husband Michael of Worcester, Kaitlyn Naze of Hudson, Elena Naze of Albuquerque, NM, Joseph Naze of Amherst, and Adam Naze of Lancaster. She was also a proud Oma to her great grandchild Juliana. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Patricia was born into a military family (US Army) in Highland Falls, NY while her father was assigned to the United States Military Academy at West Point as a bugler. At age six the family was transferred to Fort Richardson near Anchorage, Alaska. The next six years in Alaska would turn into a lifetime of stories for her as she loved her time in “The Last Frontier” state. The final destination for her family was Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC. This is where she met her husband Tom who was also stationed there. Pat and Tom married and settled in Marlborough, MA to raise their 2 boys.
A graduate of Fayetteville Senior High School, Patricia worked for Raytheon in Sudbury, MA until the birth of her first son. Staying at home to raise her boys, Patricia took up cake decorating as a hobby and ultimately turned it into a side business creating masterpieces for neighborhood birthday parties as well as the occasional wedding cake. As her sons grew, she was active in their hobbies and sports devoting many years to being a “hockey mom”. She also became a teachers aid at the Marlborough Middle School working with special needs students. Her love of the classroom took her to Framingham State where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Patricia enriched the minds of many students as a 3rd grade teacher at Kane Elementary School in Marlborough, MA for many years before she retired.
She was an avid crafter who dabbled in everything from quilting to jewelry making. She also enjoyed collecting dolls and amassing an impressive library of children’s books to read to her students and grandchildren.
