Priscilla Webster Hanks, 72, of Tyngsborough MA, passed away on December 26th 2020 from complications due to COVID-19.
Priscilla was born August 9, 1948 in Lowell, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late G. Harold and Edith (Dingwell) Brown. Priscilla was a resident of Tyngsborough for many years with her late husband Timothy Hanks. Priscilla was a longtime teacher of English at Dracut High School. She is fondly remembered by her students for dressing up in her wedding gown as Ms. Havisham and calling the crows out her classroom window.
She was a wonderful mother and devoted grandmother and will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity.
She is survived by her three daughters, Kristin Rider and her husband Michael, Shrewsbury MA; Melissa McCarthy and her husband Daniel, Manchester NH; Emily Owens and her husband Alan, Grantham, NH; and six grandchildren, Julia Rider, Leah Rider, William McCarthy, Ayva Hanks, Timothy Owens and Wesley Owens. She is also survived by her sister, Heather Francis and her husband Richard of Scarborough, ME. She is preceded in death by her husband Timothy Hanks.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at UMASS Memorial Marlborough for their kind attention during this time. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date in the Spring.
