Richard P. Lucier

Richard (Dick) Paul Lucier of Marlborough MA passed away on January 19, 2021 at the age of 86.  He was born in Hudson, MA to his late parents Fred Lucier and Loretta (Wood) Lucier.  Dick was the cherished husband for 64 years to Claire (Brunelle) Lucier, who selflessly cared for him during his battle with Alzheimer’s for the past 10 years.  He was the loving father of Michelle (Lucier) Hicks and her husband Richard of Longmeadow MA and Richard Lucier and his wife Lucy of Myrtle Beach, SC.

Dick was blessed with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren who will dearly miss him: Caitlin (Hicks) Pries and her husband Alexander and their children Maxwell and Ronan; Christian Hicks and his wife Celia and their children Noelle, Garrett and Alden; Sawyer Hicks and his fiancée Julia Ellis; Sarah (Lucier) Khan and her husband Zain and their children Sophie and Nora; Megan Lucier and Amanda Lucier.

He also leaves behind many treasured nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Jeanette McClellan.

Dick served his country proudly in the US Marines during the Korean War attaining the rank of sergeant at the young age of twenty. 

He had a very successful career during the emergence of printed circuit boards and rose from the ranks of technical fabrication to managerial positions with vice president titles in both the technical and sales operations for various companies in this highly competitive market. He excelled due to his affable manner and technical expertise resulting in frequent travel to customers throughout the world.

Dick and Claire spent many cherished summers and weekends at their vacation home on Cape Cod, where he loved entertaining his children and grandchildren.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed making golf equipment for family and friends and was always tinkering with new golf technology. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren fostering unique relationships with each of them and took pride in their achievements. “Pepere” would often amuse them with his collection of stories and souvenirs from his travels.

The family would like to thank the warm, dedicated staffs at Kindred Hospice and at the Branches of Marlboro for the loving care and comfort given to Dick and his family during his final days.

Due to COVID restrictions services are private. The family will announce a memorial celebration of Dick’s life at time when such celebrations become possible.
