Richard “Rick” Paul Robinson passed away on June 19, 2024, at his home in Marlborough after bravely battling illness under the compassionate care of hospice. Richard P. Robinson graduated from Marian High School and served his country with distinction in the United States Air Force. His service was marked by his role in the United States Air Force Security Service, where he was stationed at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, and in Pakistan. Rick married Sheila (May) in San Antonio, Texas, and they shared 58 years of married life. Together, they returned to Marlborough and raised two wonderful, beloved daughters, Laura R. and Jennifer L. (predeceased). His oldest daughter, Meredith Borden, later became a cherished family member. After attending Newbury College, his career began in computers, working with companies such as Honeywell and Digital Equipment Corporation. With an entrepreneurial spirit, he later proudly formed Capstone Home Inspections, Inc. He was a past Marlborough Lions Club president and a Business Network International member. Rick’s interests included computers, motorcycles, and residential home building. He was passionate about music his whole life. He became a professional drummer in his young adult years, performing with The Castletones band throughout the Massachusetts music circuit in the early 1970s. He especially loved jazz and admired the Artistry of Gene Krupa and Joe Morello of the Dave Brubeck Band, among others. He has left an indelible mark on his hometown community, family, friends, and colleagues. Visitation will be held on June 28, from 5 - 7 PM at Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant Street, Marlborough. The funeral service will occur on June 29 at 10:00 AM at Saint Matthias Church, 409 Hemingway Street, Marlborough. He will rest at Evergreen Cemetery, with a reception at the American Legion Hall, 90 Maple Street, Marlborough. Flowers are welcome in his memory, and donations may be made to the Marlborough Lions Club. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate nurses and aides from Gentiva Health Services for their excellent care.
