Shirley Morrison, 83, of Marlborough, died Thursday, September 19, 2024 at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham.
Shirley comes from a family of nine and was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Welch) Morrison. She is survived by her brothers, Kenneth Morrison of Cambridge and John Morrison of Burlington, her sisters, Dorothy Smith of Waterboro, ME, Donna Morrison of Somerville and Barbara Lawrence of Rockland, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a lifelong friend of 60 years, Linda Carceo. Shirley was predeceased by her brother Donald Morrison and sisters Alberta Knowles and Katherine McDonald.
Shirley grew up in Somerville and was a longtime resident of Marlborough. She graduated from Somerville High School. She also obtained a practical nursing certificate from Mass Bay Community College in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts. Shirley was a long time (24 years) employee of Polaroid Corporation. She enjoyed sports such as softball, bowling, and golf, and even tried scuba diving. She loved playing all sorts of card and board games. And for those who know Shirley well, she also liked going to the casino from time to time. She was a big Pats fan and an even bigger Bruins fan.
Visiting hours for Shirley will be held Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 PM with a funeral home service to follow at 3:00 PM at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA 01752. Telephone: 508-485-0225
