Virginia L. (Messier) Frado Obituary
Virginia L. (Messier) Frado, 80, of Falmouth, formerly of Marlborough, died peacefully Friday, February 15, 2019 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Donald E. Messier and Dorothy (Clancy) (Messier) Martino. Virginia was predeceased by her young daughter Laureen (in 1968) and her husband Richard J. Frado (in 1995). She was a proud member of the Marlborough High School Class of 1956. Virginia leaves behind a multitude of people who were warmed by her hugs, fortified by her strength, inspired by her work ethic, and buoyed by her fun-loving, positive outlook. Known as Gin, Ginny, or GG she was so much to so many: devoted wife, protective matriarch, loyal friend, rock, caretaker, and chief mischief-maker. She will be missed for the twinkle in her eye, her infectious laughter, her plain-spoken wisdom, her dust-yourself-off reassuring constancy, her unconditional love and her competitive game strategies. Our world will be a little dimmer without her.
Virginia is survived by her ("Number 1") son, Rick Frado and wife Nora of Guilford, CT; her daughter, Nancy Vonesh and husband David of West Simsbury, CT; her brother, Chuck Martino and wife Janice of Milford, MA; and her sister, Cindy Eagar and spouse Susan Milton of Orleans, MA. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Clare, Therese, Boadin and Rose Vonesh; as well as several nieces and nephews, and those who loved her like family (you know who you are).
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA, 01752.
A Requiem Mass will be offered on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough, MA.
Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Beech St., Marlborough, MA.
