William Fairbank Baldwin, 98, of Sudbury, died Thursday, February 6, 2025, at UMass Memorial Marlborough Hospital.

He was the son of the late Clarence and Myra (Fairbank) Baldwin and husband of Geraldine Baldwin, to whom he'd been married 66 years.

Besides his wife, William is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Drew and her husband James of Leominster and his sons, William Baldwin Jr. and his wife Joanne of Leominster, Richard Baldwin and his wife Wendy of Berrien Springs, MI and Shawn Baldwin and his wife Melissa of Atlanta Georgia, as well as six grandchildren.

William was a lifelong resident of Sudbury and worked for the Sudbury School Department for 43 years. 

He was an active member of the Hudson Seventh-day Adventist Church starting at the age of 9. As he continued in his faith he served the Church in many capacities such as deacon, elder and Sabbath School teacher. William and Geraldine opened their home and over twenty five years the pair were foster parents to thirty children. 

William enjoyed spending his time with family at their lakefront cottage in Maine. He was an avid gardener and he loved classic cars notably his 1955 Nash which was his favorite car during his lifetime.

Visiting hours for William will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant Street, Marlborough, MA 01752. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 14, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Hudson Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 94 Marlboro Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 329 Concord Road, Sudbury, MA 01776.
